Coastal Elegance for April and James in Studland Bay

At the end of May we had the joy of putting April's vision together for her special day in Studland Bay, which was a place that held so many special memories for her. With the reception at Studland Bay House and the service at the lovely St Nicholas Church it was the perfect coastal affair.

Her look was a vast use of Eucalyptus brought together with a delightful use of white flowers such as Peonies, Stocks, Tulips, Freesia, Delphinium and more. So much of it sourced from UK shores as well.

With archways, installations in the church and well a tablescape that changed the space of marquee with ease. It all came together just as April had hoped and it was a joyful occasion by all - our team loved the entire set up and even got an ice cream on the beach whilst April and James said there I do's. Then we waited behind the local farm gates and viewed the happy couple come out of the church..!

"" Being an Interior Designer by trade and having an absolute passion for all things floral, finding a florist to collaborate with me, but also guide me felt like my hardest task during the wedding planning. After looking for quite some time, I stumbled across “Martha and the Meadow” and straight away I knew Emma was the right florist for me. Her website style, e-mail manner, assertive yet positive nature and not to mention beautiful floristry style, made for an easy decision.

Straight away Emma gave me a call to run through what I had proposed. She explained where I could be more economical and some florist hacks to make the budget go further; this was before we even discussed money in depth – which really did put my mind at ease knowing that her work ethic was about the best possible design for the money and not lead by profit margins. Directing me to some linen suppliers and supplying beautiful candles was not part of the “standard florist scope” but really helped bring the look together.

This was not a quick design process, due to my nature – but Emma was incredibly patient and really worked super hard making changes, working within budgets and high detail levels to eventually get to the scheme which I felt relaxed with. Good to go… a table of guests pull out and we need to completely revise the floor plan, which means we need to get four new large glass vases a week before the wedding! Emma graciously helped a bride in need and called her London florist associates and before we knew it, had hooked us up with some more vases and we were sorted. This really was way above Emma’s role at the time and I will be forever grateful for her help during quite a worrying moment. To add, the documentation of the process is super well organised and clear, as it the quotation and variations.

Effortlessly dancing between difficult wedding party guests, busy marquee build ups and hot churches – Martha and the Meadow took my breath away when I walked into the Church for the first time and then into the wedding breakfast… “it’s like a Royal Wedding in here” my Mother smiled, a tear in my eyes – the hardest to please was delighted – you can decide if that was me or my Mother!

Emma thank you and your team for everything. For me, it made our wedding and I can rest up knowing the flowers could not have been more perfect. The fact that they were nearly all British Flowers and you are an advocate for sustainable floristry was the cherry on the cake.
